Remote support anywhere in Ohio, with in-home visits across Central Ohio and Northeast Ohio.
Flat-rate home tech support, explained
What is residential managed IT service? It is a monthly subscription that gives a household the same proactive technology care a small business gets from a managed service provider: remote monitoring, automatic updates and security patches, endpoint protection, network-level filtering of scam and malicious websites, and unlimited remote support from a technician who knows your home.
825 Technologies offers three residential plans: Essential at $49 per month (4 computers, 4 phones or tablets, 15 connected home devices), Complete at $99 per month (8 computers, 8 phones or tablets, 30 connected devices, guest and IoT network segmentation, three in-home visits a year), and Concierge at $199 per month (unlimited devices, managed UniFi network, six in-home visits a year, same-day response). Annual prepay includes one month free.
Who residential managed service is built for
Busy families with a lot of screens
Laptops for work and school, tablets, smart TVs, cameras, thermostats, a doorbell, and a mesh network that everyone depends on. You already outsource the lawn and the cleaning. Your technology deserves the same treatment.
Patient help for Mom and Dad
A calm, familiar technician your parents can call directly, plus filtering that blocks scam sites before they load and a quick way to check whether that suspicious email is real. You get peace of mind from across town or across the country.
Your business runs on a home network
Realtors, consultants, therapists, and remote executives who cannot afford a Wi-Fi outage during a client call. We keep the network segmented, the computers patched, and the backups honest.
Three plans, one predictable monthly price
Every plan includes unlimited remote support from your named technician. The tiers differ in how many devices we manage, how deeply we secure your network, how many in-home visits are included, and how fast we commit to respond.

Compare what each plan covers
A managed computer carries our monitoring agent, automatic patching, and endpoint protection. A connected home device is anything else on your network that we support and secure without installing software on it.

What counts as a device
Plan limits are easy to understand because we count only three kinds of things.
Managed computers
Windows and macOS laptops and desktops. Each one gets our remote monitoring agent, scheduled operating-system and application patching, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and remote-control support so most problems are fixed without a visit.
These are the devices counted in your plan limit.
Smartphones and tablets
iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. We handle setup, moving your data to a new device, account and password recovery, and a mobile security app. They are counted separately from computers so a family of four is not penalized for having phones.
Connected home devices
Doorbell and security cameras, smart lighting, thermostats, streaming devices, smart speakers, Sonos and audio systems, printers, network storage, robot vacuums, garage controllers, and EV chargers.
They receive network-level protection, configuration help, firmware guidance, and troubleshooting. No software is installed on them. Cameras and hubs are the most-attacked devices on a home network, which is why Complete and Concierge put them on their own segmented network.
Add devices without changing plans
Essential households can grow a little without jumping tiers. A fifth laptop takes you from $49 to $64 per month; a sixth lands at $79. At a seventh computer the household moves to Complete, which at $99 adds three visits, full network segmentation, and free bench labor, so it is the better buy at that point anyway.
| Essential add-on | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Additional managed computer (5th or 6th) | $15 per month each | Full agent: monitoring, patching, endpoint protection, remote support |
| Additional smartphone or tablet beyond 4 | $5 per month each | Mobile security app, setup, and migration support |
| Connected-device block (10 more beyond the 15 included) | $10 per month | Cameras, lighting, audio, hubs, thermostats |
| One-time onboarding per added computer | $49 | Waived when the device is added during a scheduled visit |
The plain-language rule: additional devices receive the same remote monitoring and support as your plan’s included devices. Service visit allowances and response times are set by your plan tier and do not increase with added devices. Add-ons on Essential are capped at $30 per month; beyond that, Complete is the right plan.
In-home visits and drop-off repair at member rates
Most issues are solved remotely. When something needs hands on a keyboard, visits are priced by block, not by the minute, so nobody is watching the clock in your living room. Members always pay less.
In-home service
| In-home service | Non-member | Essential | Complete | Concierge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard visit (up to 90 minutes, one primary issue) | $229 | $159 | Included (3 per year), then $129 | Included (6 per year), then $99 |
| Extended visit (up to 3 hours, multiple issues) | $379 | $289 | $229 | $179 |
| Additional 30 minutes on site | $65 | $50 | $45 | $40 |
| Same-day or emergency dispatch | $399 | $299 | $249 | Included |
| After-hours or weekend visit | +$99 | +$75 | +$75 | +$50 |
| Trip charge beyond 20 miles | $45 | $35 | Waived | Waived |
Bench repair (drop-off)
Flat labor price by tier of work. Parts are always separate and quoted before work begins. Standard turnaround is 3 to 5 business days. Drop-off and pickup arrangements are confirmed when you schedule.
| Bench service | Non-member | Essential member | Complete and Concierge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diagnostic (waived if repair is approved) | $69 | $49 | Free |
| Tier 1: tune-up, malware removal, OS repair, driver and update fixes | $149 | $119 | Free |
| Tier 2: hardware swap (SSD, RAM, battery, fan, screen), OS reinstall | $199 | $159 | Free |
| Tier 3: data migration or logical data recovery, board-level, complex | $299 | $239 | Free labor, $99 data recovery surcharge |
| Data transfer (standard, under 500 GB) | $149 | $119 | Free |
| Rush or next-day turnaround | +$75 | +$50 | +$50 |
| Device setup: phone, tablet, camera, or hub | $89 | $69 | Free |
Anything beyond Tier 3 scope receives a written quote before work starts.
Projects we quote separately
Larger installs are priced as fixed deliverables so the number you approve is the number you pay.
Whole-home Wi-Fi and UniFi installation
From $650, quoted by access-point count and cable runs. Replaces dead zones and consumer routers with a network we can actually manage.
IoT audit and network segmentation rebuild
$495 for members, $695 for non-members. Every camera, hub, and smart device inventoried, updated, and moved onto its own protected network.
Camera system installation
Four to eight cameras, doorbell integration, and cloud or local storage, quoted by camera count and mounting.
Smart lighting and audio commissioning
$149 per device, $495 minimum. Sonos, whole-home audio, lighting scenes, and voice control set up to work together.
New-home technology onboarding
$895 flat move-in package: network, TVs, printers, cameras, and every account signed in and documented before the boxes are unpacked.
Something else
Anything beyond a visit block gets a written project quote with a fixed price. You will never see an hourly estimate that changes halfway through.
Why Ohio households choose 825 over a big-box tech squad
Retail tech memberships bundle warranties and schedule visits through a national call center. We are selling a relationship and prevention, not break-fix plus an upsell.
One named technician
Not a rotating cast from a national queue. Your tech knows which laptop is the finicky one and which grandchild changed the TV input.
We call you before it breaks
Monitoring flags a failing drive or a missed update long before it turns into a weekend without a computer.
Business-grade protection at home
The same endpoint protection, patching, and network filtering we have run for Ohio businesses since 2006, including scam-site blocking and quick email verification.
Cameras and hubs on their own network
Segmentation and firmware oversight for the devices attackers target first. Big-box memberships do not sell this.
Where we serve
Remote support is available to any household in Ohio. In-home visits are scheduled in two regions, and a small trip charge applies beyond 20 miles from your technician (waived on Complete and Concierge).
Columbus and surrounding communities
In-home visits for Columbus, Westerville, Worthington, Dublin, New Albany, Gahanna, Hilliard, Delaware, Newark, and Granville.
Cleveland West Shore and Lorain County
In-home visits for Bay Village, Westlake, Rocky River, Avon, Avon Lake, North Ridgeville, Lorain, and the Cleveland west side.
How to get started
Book a 20-minute home tech review
Call or use the contact form. We ask about your devices, your network, and what has been frustrating you. You get a plan recommendation, not a pitch.
We onboard your devices
Remotely, or during your first included visit. Agents installed, updates caught up, filtering turned on, and every device documented so support is fast later.
Call about anything
Slow laptop, a printer that vanished, a text that looks like a scam, a new phone to set up. You have a number and a name, and it is already paid for.
Frequently asked questions
How much does residential managed IT service cost in Ohio?
825 Technologies’ residential plans are $49 per month for Essential, $99 per month for Complete, and $199 per month for Concierge. Annual prepay is $539, $1,089, and $2,189 respectively, which works out to one month free. Parts and project work are quoted separately.
What is included in the $49 Essential plan?
Essential covers 4 managed computers, 4 smartphones or tablets, and up to 15 connected home devices. It includes basic network-level filtering of scam and malicious websites, unlimited remote support with next-business-day response, one in-home visit per year, and member pricing on bench repair. Camera and smart-home support on Essential is remote only.
What is the difference between Complete and Concierge?
Complete ($99) doubles device limits to 8 computers, 8 phones or tablets, and 30 connected devices, adds guest and IoT network segmentation, includes camera and smart-home support, three in-home visits a year, free bench labor, and a 4-business-hour response. Concierge ($199) removes device limits, adds a managed UniFi network, continuous IoT firmware monitoring, six in-home visits a year, same-day response with a 2-hour target, and included emergency dispatch.
Do you serve my area?
Remote support is available anywhere in Ohio. In-home visits are scheduled across Central Ohio (Columbus, Westerville, Worthington, Dublin, New Albany, Gahanna, Hilliard, Delaware, Newark, Granville) and Northeast Ohio (Bay Village, Westlake, Rocky River, Avon, Avon Lake, North Ridgeville, Lorain, and the Cleveland west side). A trip charge applies beyond 20 miles from your technician and is waived on Complete and Concierge.
What counts as a managed computer versus a connected home device?
A managed computer is a Windows or macOS laptop or desktop that carries our monitoring agent, patching, and endpoint protection. A connected home device is anything else on your network, such as cameras, doorbells, thermostats, smart speakers, streaming boxes, printers, and EV chargers. Connected devices receive network protection, configuration help, and troubleshooting, but no software is installed on them.
Can I add a computer to Essential without upgrading?
Yes. A fifth or sixth managed computer is $15 per month each, additional phones or tablets are $5 per month each, and a block of 10 more connected devices is $10 per month. A one-time $49 onboarding fee per added computer is waived when it is added during a scheduled visit. Essential is capped at six computers; a seventh moves the household to Complete.
Do added devices increase my in-home visits or response time?
No. Added devices receive the same remote monitoring and support as your plan’s included devices. Visit allowances and response commitments are set by your plan tier and do not change when you add devices.
What happens if I need a visit beyond what my plan includes?
A standard in-home visit (up to 90 minutes, one primary issue) is $159 for Essential members, $129 for Complete members after their three included visits, and $99 for Concierge members after their six. Non-members pay $229. Extended, same-day, and after-hours options are listed in the pricing tables above.
Is this the same as a big-box store tech membership?
No. Retail memberships bundle product warranties and schedule visits through a national queue with a rotating cast of technicians. 825’s residential service gives you one named local technician, proactive monitoring that flags problems before they become outages, and business-grade security tools including network segmentation for cameras and smart-home hubs.
Can you help my parents who live alone?
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons families sign up. Your parents get a patient technician they can call directly, scam-site filtering that works in the background, and a quick way to verify suspicious emails or texts. You can be the billing contact and stay informed without being the help desk.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
Monthly plans are month to month. Annual prepay saves one month and is the best fit for households that want a single yearly bill. Either way, there is no per-incident charge for remote support.
Does 825 do one-time cleanups without a plan?
Bench repair and in-home visits are available to non-members at the rates shown above, and larger installs are quoted as projects. For ongoing items like email security, account cleanup, or keeping several computers patched, we recommend a plan, because the value is in the continuity rather than a single fix.
